I am a graduate student who is currently attending a large University in New York City. A few nights before the end of the semester (Last Friday), I attempted to load my luggage (a few suitcases packed with clothing) on to my University's shuttle bus before being yelled at and assaulted (choked) by the bus driver. The relatively new bus driver refused to allow me to load my luggage on to the bus, which led to minor altercation in which he proceeded to physically assault me. A report was filed with the University, a report was filed with the NYPD, and I was transported to a local Hospital and subsequently diagnosed with a neck injury. The University believes that they have taken the necessary measures to correct the incident - They have contacted the bus company to make certain that the the bus driver was terminated. Seeking Legal Advice.

You have the makings of a personal injury lawsuit.
Speak to a local attorney (interview a couple) and then get one to pursue justice for your egregious assault.
Stop taling with the university, that is what your lawyer will do for you!
Of course the university would say, "get over it".
They want to minimize their exposure.
They want to get you to walk away.
Don't even consider it.
Hire a lawyer on Monday.
Sue the buggers.
Its always a great day when someone gets sued!
Have your lawyer unleash the fury, power, and righteousness of a lawsuit to get you paid, err; make you financially whole!
