when my mother and step-father married in 1952, she had two kids, my brother and myself, we were ages 2 & 4, they then had five kids together. my mother died in 1992 without a will so i guess everything went to my step-father,not money really,but they owned a house together . my step-father died on feb 10 2003 without a will and it is now in probate, when my sister got a lawyer she told him that she had 4 bothers and herself to inherit, leaving out my brother and myself. when my brother called the lawyer he said we can not inherit because our mother died first, i don`t understand this??? can someone tell me how this can be??? my brother and i spent 50 years with this man he considered us his children he claimed us on his taxes and we all had the same mother, please tell me if i have any recourse. can she legally do this????
