Could someone please tell me what a status hearing is in a felony case. My husband goes to court May 11, 2010, he hasn't been convicted of anything yet. Just wondering what this is about.
Thank You
Betty

Nothing to worry about, madam.
It is just a way judges use to make sure the lawyers are doing their jobs.
It keeps everyone tracking to an eventual court date or plea bargain.
When hubby goes to court, the judge will make sure everyone is playing nice and preparing for trial.
The judge will inquire if motions need to be filed, if any changes have come about, is the prosecutor playing nice and sharing evidence, etc...

Its nothing more than a status check on the parties.
