My son is in kindergarten and has a lot of medical and mental issues. I have no problems at home but school does. They send him home on a daily basis and so he hasn't learned anything. Now they are threatening me with social services if I don't place him in a residential facility or inpatient somewhere. What can I do and is there anything I can do legally? Also today is the second day he's come home with marks and bruises from school where they are holding him down without permission.

They don't need your permission to restrain him if necessary.
Your son may be fine at home but having trouble learning to socialize with other children and causing disruption. If he has known medical issues you should prepare yourself for many years of this.
You will be expected to do whatever is necessary. The burden is on you as the parent.
Consider attending class with your child so you can observe his behavior.

Moose gave you great advice.

In addition, I suggest you take your child to the physician (or clinic) where your child is treated.

Explain your issues to the physician, and ask about getting the kid evaluated (physically, emotionally, and psychologically) by trained, qualified, trusted medical professionals.

Let the school know what you are attempting to have done, and ask them to give you time to obtain all the diagnostic results.

The school also has psychologists on staff to assist in evaluating students with needs.

I suggest you meet with the teacher and school principal to discuss how the school can assist you with the education of your child.

These links will describe how your state assists children that are struggling and coping in public school.

Read it, you'll need to know WHAT to ask for, and WHAT the school's duties are, as wella s yours.
