Sold Car Booted

I sold my car about a year ago, but to help out the buyer, the title is in both our names. I signed off the title and told the buyer he had to find someone else to help him. He recently showed up at my door saying the car was "booted" for unpaid tickets in 2007. Am I still resposible for having the boot removed? He still hasn't done any changes to the title. My name is still on it with his even though I signed it in the back.
