Apr 18, 2005 #2 D Duranie Moderator In most cases, support stops when rights are terminated, but any back support would still be owed. You cannot just terminate your rights. The mother must agree to this and generally there needs to be a step-parent adoption in place of it. There needs to be an attorney involved as this is not a do it yourself type of thing.
