Back in December, I was caught swhoplifting an item worth $8.00 at wal-mart. At the hearing, the judge sentenced me to do 25 hours of community service and to attend the retail theft diversion class. I was not sure if it was a misdemeanor or a summary offense because the judge had not told me. Later, after calling them, I found out that it was a summary offense. I have a few questions...1. After I complete everything, will I be able to get it expunged?
2. How will this affect my chances in future employment because I am a senior in high school, am 18, and will soon be going to college.
I am really worried that I messed up my future really bad by one stupid mistake. I am very sorry and regretful that I did it and looking back I don't know what I was thinking. This is the first time that I have ever been in any kind of trouble and I need some help.
It would be much appreciated.
