Oklahoma Sex Registration Law
I am a registered sex offender and have been since my release from prison in 2004. My offense was two counts, Possession of Child Pornography and Receipt of Child Pornography. I'm a tier two. I am on an unsupervised probation until 2012.
My question pertains to participation in community activities. I have been an actor for over 30 years and very active in community theatre, specifically here in Tulsa. One of the most active and admired stages happens to be located on city property and is sponsored by the city. I have been asked to be in a couple of shows there but have declined because I'm not sure I can. The threatre's building is on a park property, however the plays are an all adult cast and the rehearsals are all after 6 p.m. and there are no children in the building,during rehearsals.
I would like to know if I'm restricted from performing in these shows. Or, with whom I can speak to who can give me a definite answer. At this time all my phone calls to the State of Oklahoma has been a wild ride on a merry-go-round with no one seeming to know.
I would also like to know where I can find the law that sets the criteria for what level one is placed at and who makes that decision and can it be reviewed.
