I am taking on Los Angeles Unified School District on behalf of myself and my daughter. I cant afford an attorney so I am going it alone. The case involves serious physical injury, discrimination, breech of fiduciary duty, fraud, forgery and retaliation.

What advice can you give me/
What is the most imporant thing that I need to know, do, or be careful of in my pursuit?

When you want to have a better resolution of your case it would be wise to hire a lawyer.
If you believe that you have a case, you should be wary and confer with an attorney.
You cannot compromise your claim.
It would be hard a task to do that on your own.
