My issue is complicated. I'm a recent graduate of an online college. I graduated in June 2013, I received a notice from this school that I owe a balance (August 2013) I paid this balance in October 2013. Yesterday (January 13) I received a collection letter for $2884 a totally different amount what this school say I owe. Their reason for this amount is that I did not send in proper documentation before the deadline therefore the loan was disbursed a day AFTER I completed my schooling there. My question is can I LEGALLY be made to pay this amount even though I NEVER used the funds?

    Who knows.

What I do know, is if someone like these creeps don't get paid, they usually sue.

    Good luck.

There are rules consistent with your having received the loan. Consult them.

I assume you have a loan contract/agreement. Does it answer your question?
