Today I checked the ID of a minor and ID looked like it said 1984, although she did look young. I immediately thought it was fake, but turned slightly and the hologram was in it so assumed I was being paranoid and sold 1 can beer. (License was under plastic cover in wallet). I was almost arrested but was instead given written notice to appear in court 3 weeks from now for sale of alcohol to minor. This happened in Columbia county, Florida. What can I expect? I have 10 people in my home and cannot afford probation; is there any other alternative? Will this affect my record when I apply for future jobs or get background checks? (The only other trouble I have ever been in is 2 speeding tickets in 1998.)
