Roomate roomate/tenant no lease

Georgia: Me and my fiance have moved in with a friend. We have no lease. He is the owner of the house and we rent a room as well as another tenant. The owner also lives in the house. We agreed on splitting all bills down the middle. We recently found out he pays less on the mortgage then we do. He usually gets all the bills and tells us what we own him. I found out he is asking us for extra money to pay his HOA fees. He will also tell us he needs money for parking violations and I look at the paper and its his HOA fees. He asked us for $110 to pay these parking violations. The violations come in $50 increments. Then he wont show us the papers. Then I discovered he didn't pay Septembers cable bill and Octobers electric bill but took the money from us. So when he asked us for 24 for water 45 for cable and 110 for fines I told him we needed to see the bills before we pay them and he wont show them to us. I have asked him 4 times in the past week but still he refuses. We are thinking about leaving but with me not working (pregnant and cant find a job) its hard to find a place we can afford. What are my rights here? We have been living here for 4 months.

You have the same rights as any other month to month tenant. Your best bet is to leave. He won't change. He'll keep cheating you.

See if he will write something up saying what you will owe every month. I know the electric bill will vary but see about taking the average and get it in writing. Also get reciepts from him on what you pay. As army said your best bet is to find another palce so this jerk cant screw you out of your money. Good luck.
