Is anyone familiar with IPC International Corporation and Security Network Holdings Corporation and how they operate. If someone was never detained by loss prevention or otherwise charged with a crime, what type of investigation would retail security be doing. Are they building a case or is it that they don't have solid proof to press charges? Every time I go into a store, employees get a warning and a phone call. Anyone else having this experience?

You may be suspected of theft, and they could potentially notify law enforcement if they ever discover the theft. If you haven't been told to stay out of the store then you are free to keep going there, but you might do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else for awhile.

Coming from loss prevention in several national retailers it does sound like something you, someone you are known to be around, or someone with the same name has been doing a high volume of refunds without receipt. When loss prevention does this it is to let you know without actually saying it out loud. You just notice a phone ring but never hear the conversation, sometimes there isn't one or not related to you. The fact that you have noticed it and think it is about you is designed to discourage you from continuing. They wouldn't try to "burn" you if they were able to build a case against you and it has been tried
