First of all thanks in advance to any individuals that assist me here on these forums. The law is incredibly hard to discern for someone not well versed in it, and the consequences for breaking it so great. So I greatly appreciate the services you provide here.

My question/dilemma is as follows:

I am employed in the Luxor hotel and casino, and for the last month and a half have been purchasing Criss Angel Believe merchandise and re-selling it on E-bay. I am paying full price for the merchandise and buying 2-3 items on average every week. My supervisors found out about this and threatened my job. I spoke with the director of my department who informed me that it was illegal for me to purchase Criss Angel Believe merchandise and re-sell it online because he was due royalties off his merchandise even if I had already bought it from the store. I was told that if Criss Angel were to find out about this activity he would be extremely displeased and it would probably cost me my job.

So my question is this: Is it illegal for me to re-sell merchandise I purchased at full price from the Criss Angel Believe store? And if I am selling these items after I purchased them from the store, is Criss Angel due any royalties from my sale?

I researched the first sale doctrine which is a limitation on copyright and allows a purchaser to sell, gift, give away a lawfully made copy of copyrighted work without permission once it has been lawfully obtained. This sounds like I'm in the clear, but again i'm here on these forums to get the opinions of proffesionals.

Thank you very much again for your time and input.
