My jurisdiction is: ny

I am in the process of a divorce. I have full custody of my 3yr old child I use to live with my parent before I got married . my husband left and i got layed off I can no longer afford to pay the rent where we live . I ask to relocate to another state where my parents reside . my Ex says the only way he will let me move is if I drop child support payment. what can I do ??

You can request relocation when you go to court. If it's in your child's best interest, it may be allowed. If you can prove that your STBX is willing to allow relocation if you waive child support, that may help. Just remember that if you relocate, you may very well become responsible for all transportation to and from the father's visitation.
