Rejected excuse

I was enrolled in a nursing school. Along with the core additional clinical hours ate required for completion of that class. It was the end of a quarter and all class work had been completed. Near the end, I became ill and was hospitalized. I was cleared to return to school and work by the physician. When it became time to complete the clinical portion of the course, I was denied . The director stated she wanted another excuse clearing me for clinical by a specialist .With only 2 weeks left and the absolute earliest appointment being after the time frame. I received an "F" in the course which resulted in dismissal from the program. Leaving me ineligible to reapply ever. Is that legal? That was my last quarter until preceptor and a degree.

Read the school catalog and the student handbook.
It's explained in great detail in one or both of those works.
It's not so much legal as it contractual and behavioral.
Good luck.
Of course, you're always free to discuss any legal matter with a licensed attorney anywhere you find one in your state.

I know there is more than one nursing school in Bama. You might see about applying to a different program.

Did you ask about deferring the clinical portion or withdrawing from the course? There would seem to be a lot you are leaving out of this story.
