Does anyone have any information or know the exact law stating that a patient has the right to refuse medical treatment?
To keep a long story short I refused treatment to ems for a bump with a carpet burn like scrape on the side of my fore head. They forced me to go to the hospital. Once at the hospital I refused again which they would not comply with and threatened to call security if I just got up and walked out and was forced to have an mri done.
I was in a sane state of mind, able to state my name, dob, etc, as well as sign papers while at the hospital/in the ambulance. I have refused to pay the bills and the billing departments have said I can send in a letter disputing the bills so I am trying to find some legal information to back up my situation.
Thanks for your time.
