questions about giving up rights

my ex-girlfriend is pregnant, and i was wondering if i give up all custudy right, if i still have to pay child support and if so is it the same amount as if i had custudy rights. i would like to have full custudy of my child, but i know that the chances of a single father in the air force to get custudy is slim to none. there is know way that her and me can have joint custody, she is the type of women that will hold the child above my head.
