Good Evening,

I am wondering if someone would be able to assist me with an agreement that I received a couple days ago regarding a freelance opportunity on upwork.com. If anyone is familiar with upwork.com, it is a website for anyone that is looking for any freelance full-time, part-time, or contract jobs. I have been associated with upwork.com for quite some time now and have even taken on some part-time gigs for extra income. Recently two individuals reached out to me claiming that they are looking to onboard people for a new website that they are trying to work on and are looking to hire people since they are a start-up company. They use to go by Betvisor, but now they changed their name to PlayerHQ/Reel Edge. At first, it did pique my interest so I asked for more information. They went on to explain that they are based in the UK and looking to onboard people who are new to online casino gambling. Moreover, they mentioned that I would be signing up with about 20-25 online casinos located in NJ since that is where I reside and I would be using my own information to sign up since casinos ask for my SS# and have to verify it's me because I would have to upload my license (on the casino website). Additionally, I would have to also create a coinbase account, whitelist their own coinbase account on mine, then open up a separate bank account and they would be providing me with their own funds via Coinbase and that I would have to deposit the money from coinbase into the bank account so that I can deposit that money into the online casino. They also provided me with a step-by-step on how to play slot machines, betting on sports, as well as roulette. I would also have to create a new gmail account so that they can track all my emails I receive from the casinos as they would have the emails forwarded over to their email account, oh and the best part is that they wanted me to connect on teller.io so that they can see I am depositing the money they send me into the casinos (it would connect with my bank account). All in all, I just saw a lot of red flags!

I went on to read their "backing agreement" and to be quite honest, I am not 100% familiar with agreements or contracts. However, I do know there are 6 elements to make a contract legally binding. One of them being legality. My question is how are these two people connected to a lawyer that created this agreement but it all sounds like a scam to me? I did not sign off on anything, nor did I move forward but I would like to see if it would be okay for me to upload this "agreement" to confirm if it is legit??? I am located in New Jersey by the way. I am also tempted on calling my local police department to report this as well as upwork.com to let them know.

I would greatly appreciate someones assistance. Thank you!

So did I.

it all sounds like a scam to me?

To me to.

Sounds like a very convoluted scam to part you from your money while they disappear into the woodwork.

I am also tempted on calling my local police department to report this

Yes, do that. And call your state's attorney general office where they might be additional information.

as well as upwork.com to let them know.

That, too.

Meantime, cease all contact with the company and don't expose yourself any further.

You might also call some of the legit NJ casinos' management and see if they know anything about the company.

It has a lot of the hallmarks of a scam. Moreover, from your description of it, even if it was legitimate the terms expose you to a lot of risk. If I were in your shoes, I'd pass on this one.

but it all sounds like a scam to me

Your spidey senses are tingling.

Always heed and immediately accede to your hesitations by simply staying away from anything you alone adjudicate to be fishy, hinky, or stinky.

In the instant matter we're discussing it would seem EXTREMELY unwise to affiliate yourself with the two bozo, scammer clowns alleging to operate in the UK.

............

This is what other people are ALLEGEDLY saying:

Reel Edge is rated "Excellent" with 4.6 / 5 on Trustpilot

I just read the reviews and they seem iffy to me, but that's just me because I don't trust a lot in this world haha - although I'd like to give certain situations the benefit of the doubt. Thank you for your time!

Yes, I am going to do all of this ... I just get a weird gut feeling

I learned very early in life to simply say NO if I have doubts about doing ANYTHING.

I've toiled long and hard to accumulate my wealth.

I have no interest in working with or for any scammer desirous of stealing it from me.

I'm what many term risk adverse.

Five tours in Nam as an Army Ranger teaches one a great deal, should one choose to be taught.

I highly respect that - thank you for all you do
