Good Evening,
I am wondering if someone would be able to assist me with an agreement that I received a couple days ago regarding a freelance opportunity on upwork.com. If anyone is familiar with upwork.com, it is a website for anyone that is looking for any freelance full-time, part-time, or contract jobs. I have been associated with upwork.com for quite some time now and have even taken on some part-time gigs for extra income. Recently two individuals reached out to me claiming that they are looking to onboard people for a new website that they are trying to work on and are looking to hire people since they are a start-up company. They use to go by Betvisor, but now they changed their name to PlayerHQ/Reel Edge. At first, it did pique my interest so I asked for more information. They went on to explain that they are based in the UK and looking to onboard people who are new to online casino gambling. Moreover, they mentioned that I would be signing up with about 20-25 online casinos located in NJ since that is where I reside and I would be using my own information to sign up since casinos ask for my SS# and have to verify it's me because I would have to upload my license (on the casino website). Additionally, I would have to also create a coinbase account, whitelist their own coinbase account on mine, then open up a separate bank account and they would be providing me with their own funds via Coinbase and that I would have to deposit the money from coinbase into the bank account so that I can deposit that money into the online casino. They also provided me with a step-by-step on how to play slot machines, betting on sports, as well as roulette. I would also have to create a new gmail account so that they can track all my emails I receive from the casinos as they would have the emails forwarded over to their email account, oh and the best part is that they wanted me to connect on teller.io so that they can see I am depositing the money they send me into the casinos (it would connect with my bank account). All in all, I just saw a lot of red flags!
I went on to read their "backing agreement" and to be quite honest, I am not 100% familiar with agreements or contracts. However, I do know there are 6 elements to make a contract legally binding. One of them being legality. My question is how are these two people connected to a lawyer that created this agreement but it all sounds like a scam to me? I did not sign off on anything, nor did I move forward but I would like to see if it would be okay for me to upload this "agreement" to confirm if it is legit??? I am located in New Jersey by the way. I am also tempted on calling my local police department to report this as well as upwork.com to let them know.
I would greatly appreciate someones assistance. Thank you!
