Puppy Contract

I signed and mailed a contract agreeing to purchase a puppy from another state to have it shipped to New York. We did verbally change the price because of high airfare but the contract does not reflect this. I have changed my mind and seller says she will sue. I have stopped payment on the check. I dont want a legal issue but if I have one will I have to go to her state or will she have to file it in mine? What should I do. Thanks
