Property Tax Grandfather Clauses?

My grandmother lives in NJ, and property taxes have gotten so high that she has been forced to move out of our family's house, because she can no longer afford the taxes.

The house was built by my family in 1892, and is considered historical. The historical society will not take the house because of the state of the neighborhood.

I have researched grandfather clauses, but found nothing helpful.
Is anyone here familiar with NJ tax law?

I'd really like to help my grandmother not lose our family's house, it means so much to her.
Thanks for any help anyone can send my way.

What exactly is it that you want to know?

Are you asking if there is a way that grandma can keep from paying taxes?

I doubt it.

Just was curious if there were any grandfather clauses on any kind of tax laws or even something that would make her pay less since the house is so old.... I'm just researching all the different ways we can solve this without having to sell.
