Hi there, I'm currently living in Massachusetts and about two weeks ago some construction workers came to the front of my lawn to do some waterwork on the fire hydrant. Now I was warned by the town that my water would be shutoff briefly, but I was NOT told that they would be digging a giant hole around the fire hydrant with a 8' diameter. Now I know you're not supposed to have anything obstructing the fire hydrant within 3' of it but these guys pretty much dug a huge hole, finished fixing the water leak, and never came back to fill it up let alone warn me about it.
Now my lawn looks awful and I'm thinking about writing a simple letter to the town but I wanted to make sure I was in the right first.
