I live on a private road in a lake community. Our road floods every time it rains because our neighbor built up the perimeter of his property to keep the water from going on his property. There are two other families and myself affected because of this. Two of us can't even get into our driveways. The town won't do anything because it's a private road. The lake association isn't doing anything says they have no money. If anything is done we'll have to pay for it. They have no problem taking our taxes and lake dues. We don't know who else to turn to for help. Thank you.

    Who owns the road?

Are you using the road subject to an easement?

A private road makes it your private problem. Dig a ditch... do whatever you have to do. Sounds like this is one for you to resolve on your own. Perhaps you and the other effected neighbor can split the costs.

Did the Lake Association approve the build up that your neighbor did? It's really hard to answer this without seeing what is written in the by-laws. Do you own the land?
