I have just been written up in my dept. and having to serve suspention for 1 shift. I would like to know what rights of privacy I have since I have already been confronted by other people in my dept.( only one day later ) about what happened and what I recieved as discipline. Seems everybody knows even though I have not spoken to anybody about situation I am in.

Honest truth? Legally, you have no right of privacy at all.

It may or may not be appropriate for others to be made aware of it but it does not violate any laws or any rights.

Your right to privacy in the workplace is limited pretty much to any medical information your employer may have obtained that is protected by the ADA or HIPAA (which does not include all medical information) and the right to privacy in the restroom and dressing room.
