Power of Attorney

I need power of attorney for my brother, who lives in Minneapolis, MN. I live in Chicago, Illinois. He has been hospitalized for the last 4 weeks and is unresponsive to the outside world. It is a mental issue as most test have came back inconclusive. Doctors say it is unknown when or whether he will come out of it. His mortgage is past due as well as other bills and utilities. It is suspected but not confirmed that the guy who is renting a room in his house has tried to forge checks. The POA forms that I have seen on the web needs be filled out by him. I am way beyond that point. Can I get a form in Illinois that will legally binding in Minnesota? How can I freeze and gain control of his bank account? My research turned up that some banks have their own POA forms and is recommended that a preprinted form contain the words "Power of Attorney from Probate Code 4401. I am desperately trying to stop a foreclosure and repossessions proceedings. Please help!!

You cannot do a POA. You will need a court to appoint you as guardian. Then you can handle his affairs.
