Parole, Probation Post-release Supervision legislation in New York State

I have heard that in New York State, if someone serves at least two years of their Post-release Supervision without a violation that their time would be considered met and to use parlence of my contemporaries "be off paper", i.e. you are done with parole. As I was going through this journey through the Justice system there were many rumors about PRS. In California they supposedly got rid of it, so New York was going to follow suit, PRS is double jeopardy, and so on. Is there any truth to the two year rumor or am I just grasping at straws? Are there any such measures being thought of as well? Any information would be great! Thank you.

Do you want to RISK losing your parole by seeking the opinion of anonymous people on the Internet?
Seriously, discuss any concern you have about your parole with YOUR lawyer, or YOUR parole agent.
Stop listening to others locked in your plight.
Change your life, just do as they tell you to until THEY remove your chains.
If you don't, the chains aren't ever going to be removed.
Patience grasshopper, patience.
