Points Question

Speeding tickets stay on your record for as long as your state keeps records. Some keep them forever, some purge your driving record after so many years. Only your particular DMV can tell you their policy on traffic tickets. Driver license points are different from insurance points. Driver license points are handled in accordance with the laws of your state and usually disappear after three years. Insurance points are assigned by your insurance company to determine how much they will charge. Each company has their own schedule but usually only consider violations within the last three years.
