My husband is getting a Home Equity Line Loan up to $250,000, he doesn't want any other kind of loan just this one. but I don't want to sign because we don't need that amount, we have credit card debts for $40,000, and that's the only amount we need. I can't work for health problems and he doesn't want to pay my bills until I signed. I talk to the lender and he said that he will specified in the loan amount the sum of $40,000. I don't understand how can that be if the line is up to $250,000. I'm afraid that my husband will take the whole amount and leave my child and I without anything, because he can make himself a check for $100, or $200, and I can do nothing to stop him. Please tell me what to do.
    Thank you:eek:

If the bills are in both your names and he doesn't pay them then he will ruin his credit as well. I agree, don't sign anything.
