My jurisdiction is: Pocahontas, Illinois
I was contacted by Minnesota today, March 23, 2009 in regards to my daughter being a ward of the state. They then tried to persuade me into signing off my parental rights to my child. I refused to comply with this. I have not had contact with my child in over 3 yrs due to her mother (I reside in a different state, and no custodial rights have been established) yet I'm being told that I have to go through the state of Minnesota's channels (ie telephone calls with my child, letters, etc) before they can establish my custodial rights to her. Is there something more I can do to receive my parental rights?
