ON 3/1 I placed a deposit ($1000) on my credit card for a leased car. Later that day I completed my down payment and also paid in cash for a remote starter ($540) that had to be ordered. On 3/3 I went back to the dealer an said I did not want it as I had no plans to buy the car at the end of the lease. He would check with the manager to see is I could get my money back. On 3/19 I went to the dealer to pick up my registration. When I asked about the starter I was told that they could not cancel the order. It has yet to be installed.
Is there any way I can get my money back? Can I call the credit card co and dispute this? The dealer is in NJ and I live in NY. I was charged tax on this item for a purchase in NY.
