Paid for repair upfront and truck still not finished

Hi. My husband paid upfront to have heads replaced in his truck and 3 months later the truck is still not finished. The mechanic keeps saying tomorrow or in a few days or after the weekend but the truck is still not finished. What can my husband do?

Not much, except remove his truck and pay to have the work done at a certified garage.

He could sue the shade tree mechanic in small claims court.
