what arguments must a son present to Franchise Tax Board against OTW involving his joint accounts with his dad who is the one with unpaid tax obligations to the state? His joint bank accounts had been wiped out by the OTW. He can prove the deposits are his funds, like university refunds involving financial aid intended for his housing costs.. father is just a convenience signer.

The question is beyond the scope of a message board. An attorney is essential.

Just adding to what Proserpina advises, which is spot on advice, what you've describe appears INNOCENT to the untrained.

However, to the trained investigator, litigator, and state or federal tax collector; it screams FRAUD.
You should do as Proserpina encouraged, get thee to an attorney ASAP.

He definitely needs a lawyer & he should take with him everything he has to prove the/what funds are his.
