My husband and I have been raising our great-niece for the greater part of the last 2 years. She is now 5 and 1/2 yrs. old. Last year, her mother had her for about 60 days out of the entire year. We have had her all but about
4 weeks out of this year, so far. She has been with us since April 17 and there has been no direct contact with her mother. I know indirectly from others that she is around, "misses" her daughter and has plans to get an apartment in another town (again). We kept her in her first two years of school, and now it's time for Kindergarden and she's not signed up and I can't do it without her mother. She waltzes in and out of her life, doesn't see her or talk to her for months and it's driving my husband and me nuts. Help!!
What are our options? and how viable are they?
