One Roommate moves out, locks have been changed, no wants a key

My roommate moved out in January, unexpectedly. She wrote a letter to the landlord that she would still be making her rent payments until the end of lease, May. The landlord changed the locks and now she wants a key. I have mailed her the last of her belongings - two pots - and do not need her to help clean when the lease is up. I have notified him that I am moving out as well. We did not have to pay a security deposit even. I do no want the ex roommate to have a key to my apartment and have access to the place when I am not there. Is there any obligation to provide her one?

If your roommate is continuing to pay her share of the rent, she is not your ex-roommate; she is your current roommate and has all the rights that you do until the lease would normally end. That means she is entitled to a key to the rental property.
