ohio : expired tags

Was recently cited to the dreaded mayor's court for expired tags. This is a minor misdemeanor. Can I request a jury trial on this and get this forwarded to municipal court? I'm not sure if a mm carries jail time.

I can't help you with the jury trial question, but minor misdemeanors in Ohio do not come with jail time. The maximum penalty for MM is up to $150 fine or up to 30 hours of community service.

In most states if you get things fixed within a reasonable period of time you can avoid the problem. Don't know specifically the issues here although I had an issue with expired items and that worked...
