We live in Washington, are selling a house in Oregon. At no time during our ownership did we live in or pay Oregon taxes. Will we have to pay capital gains tax on the profit from this sale to Oregon Dept of Revenue?

Specific tax advice is best obtained by retaining a CPA or tax attorney.

Any advice tax obtained from strangers could end up costing you far more than a retainer paid to a CPA or tax attorney.

This might be the most concerning part of this post. You never paid "Oregon taxes"? Not even property taxes? Also, if you didn't live in the home, what did you do with it? Did you rent it? If so, then you at least should have filed an Oregon state income tax return each year.

I strongly recommend you consult with a CPA or tax attorney about all this.
