No Support, No Visitation?

I am a single father living in Los Angeles, CA. I have joint legal custody and Mother has physical custody. I have visitation rights every other weekend.

The past two months I haven't been able to pay child support in full due to financial crisis. (I am not a deadbeat Dad, just haven't been able to pay in full for the past 2 months.) The mother sends text messages threatening that she will deny me visitation rights if Child Support isn't paid.

It's only been 2 months and I am making some effort in paying some of the support until I can get back on a securer financial status. Can she actually prevent me from seeing my child if I am not paying support in full?

As I said in your other with "exact" same question. Your Ex cannot hold your children from you due to your lack of support payments. You can take her to court and file contempt. Vistiation and support are unrelated you dont pay to see your kids!

Keep the text messages as proof mom is interfering with visits. She cannot withhold visits due to non payment of support. As long as you are making a good faith effort to pay some of it I don't think the courts will hold it agains you, however, unless you are out of work or have a lower paying job, you are expected to pay your full support.

Thank you very much for the great advice! I'm new to this forum and think this is the best thing for individuals! I appreciate it once again! =)
