After working for my employer as a network engineer for 3 years I have decided to launch out on my own.
As I have informed customers they have indicated that they would like for me to continue servicing their accounts. I have been very careful not to discuss the matter with these customers on company time and instead have taken vacation days and scheduled meetings with potential customers.
After giving notice to my employer - he has indicated that he intends to sue if I take any of his customers.
In response I have asked if there can be some compromise - he has asked me to present options by tomorrow - I am thinking of giving 50 % of all service revenues collected from former customers for some period of time - is this necessary? what would be a reasonable period?
