Niece needs help

I live in missouri, I have my niece for the summer, she doesn't want to go home. I believe she is being abused physically and mentally, I really don't want to return her to the situation that she came from if there is anything I can do, please let me know. She is from Iowa and I have called family services many, many, many times. I don't know what else to do and I'm afraid she is going to runaway. She came to me on antidepressants and sleeping pills. Her 17 yr old sister moved out at 16 and had a baby and is now living in a motel with two men in 20's and 30's. I don't want her to end up in same kind of situation just to get out of the house.

You have no right to keep the child. How old is she? You need to see an attorney to see if you have any options.
