My partner has a son who lives in Germany with his mother. He will be 18 in November and so far we have been paying maintenance.
We have recently found out he started an apprenticeship and we were not advised.
We need to know if an appreticeship is classed as employment or if this is classed as further education, and if it classed as further education will we be expected to pay for a further 3 years until it ends.
Also if it is classed as employment should our payment stop now or do we need to continue to pay until he is 18.
The child has not been in eductaion at all for the last two years.
