neighbor keeps calling police on lies

I live in an apartment complex and have lived here for over 6 years. About 2 years ago the police came to my door saying that this couple who live here saw me walking around the parking lot trying to get into peoples cars. That was a big lie and I never got charged with anything because of course there was no evidence. By the way I dont even know these people who are saying this. About 3 or more months ago the manager at our apartments calls and says we need to talk. She informs me that someone called corporate saying that my boyfriend and I were now getting into cars which was also a lie. Police were never involved and nothing happened or was ever said about that again. Now today I wake up with the police knocking on my door saying that the same people are now saying that I keyed their car in broad daylight and that the wife saw me do it. I was asleep when they said it happened so was nowhere outside. The police tell me that I either admit I did it and pay for the damages or go to jail. At first they said they had me on video but when I asked to see it they said they deleted it. The police were on their side even after hearing that because the lady said she saw me do it. I had witnesses that I had been in bed all day and not even been outside. About 8 hours later the same day I'm walking my dog and the lady is on her balcony and tells me that i need to walk somewhere else cause I cant walk by her car. She also said that there were now some more scratches on her hood and that I did that too. I was at the pool with my kids and friends for hours and never even came near her car. Next thing I know the police are at my door again saying that she called them because I walked too close to her car and scratched her car again. The police acted like they didnt believe her this time but I dont know. She has been telling everyone in the complex that I steal and mess up cars. That is making my reputation look really bad and when she called corporate of the apts that could have caused me to lose my apt and I have 2 children. She has now resorted to saying that my 6 year old daughter is a thief, like mother like daughter she said. That has upset my daughter very badly thinking we are gonna have to move and because she is telling everyone lies on us. What I would like to know is if that is slander enough to sue someone over? Also she tells everyone that i sit out in my car doing drugs so much that i pass out and no one can wake me. That is also not true. Is there anything I can do?

The best thing you can do is completely ignore the lady. Don't acknowledge her existence in any way whatsoever.
Calmly discuss your concerns with your landlord.
