ok, my friend is 16 and he hit sombody in the school parking lot, he has his own insurance and they chose not to report because my friends insurance would sky rocket, my friend left a pretty big dent in the back of this guys truck and he cracked the taillight of the guys truck, but no real damage was done to my friends truck, niether of them took pictures of it at the site of the accident, we went with him and got it appraised and and it ended up costing like $898 fix or something close to that. well we all went back to the guys house after that and he had my friend write down his name and what happened and how much it would cost and then that he would pay him for it, then he sighed it. well within the week my friend moved to myrtle beach South Carolina and then he's thinking about moving in with his dad in Georgia. if my friend doesnt pay him back can the guy take him to court or anything? i thought that since they didnt report it, and the thing he made him write and sign. couldnt he say that they forged it, and plus, you cant make a legal bind if your only 16 right, and since they didnt take pictures at the scence of the accident they have no proof right? couldnt my friend say that that might of happend and had nothing to do with him because they didnt report it or take pictures and that he is just trying to blame it on him? so im just wondering if he could get into any legal or criminal trouble for not paying him back? please help. the guy is demanding his money and my friend doesnt have it and the guy is talking about taking him to court but my friend is in georgia with his dad and doesnt know what to do.

P.S and the guy that he hit has a "mini truck" wich means he has airbags as suspension so he can rise and lower his truck and all that stuff, is there anyway that could help out my friend if they go to court?

Your question reminds me of a standard attorney objection.

The attorney rises and says, "Objection, your honor, asked and answered!"

Your question has been asked and answered TWICE.

I'll be kind and answer it for the THIRD and final time.

My answer is a bit different than the other two.

That accident NEVER happened.

No police report was filed.

The letter the kid is alleged to have signed is inadmissible in any legal proceeding.

The 16 year old is a child.

Children have no legal ability to contract (except in rare circumstances and only for necessities).

Repairing a car doesn't qualify.

The 16 year old can live his life, and legally not worry about the idiot that had him sign an admission.

But, the way you are creating these missives reveal that the kid's conscience is eating him up and affecting his ability to live free.

Yeah, conscience's suck sometimes, don't they?

Well, this forum is Ann Landers or Dear Abby.

We're not here to judge, just dispense common sense legal advice.

Yeah, that admission has so many holes in it, that Swiss cheese looks perfect compared to it.

On the other hand, the dude that suffered $900 damage to his truck is screwed.

The lesson here is always call the police.

Your "friend" (or is it YOU - never mind) has no worries, legally.

His conscience, I can't help him (YOU) with that.

Legally you're free, kid.

Karma on the other hand is a real beast.

What we do, both good and bad, does come back to us.
