California.

I really didn't know where to post this, so sorry if this is the wrong section.

I currently live in Argentina.

I'm 29 years old.

American citizen.

Born in California.

I've been reading on the internet that lately, due to terrorism and what not, that they require you to go and have a hearing with a judge at your local superior court.
And that this process takes no less than 4 weeks.

So, hence my problem. I live in argentina. I COULD eventually go to the states in order to sign some stuff or just show my face, but my no means could I stay a month or more.

I spoke to the people at my local embassy and they don't know anything about this. They gave me and email to write to, but I haven't received a reply from them yet and it's been about 3 weeks now.

I DO know that this can be done without having to go to the US if it's a marriage or divorce issue. But since my decision is a personal one, I have to have a hearing with a judge as I mentioned before.

This is all the information I could find, maybe there is a workaround for living abroad.

Anyways.. if anyone can help me with this matter, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Gabriel.
