My renters removed a fence using it for firewood claiming it was rotten. I know for a fact it was not rotten and am totally shocked that they did this. They are about to relocate to the east coast.
They told me they will take care of it, but I really don't believe this.
Should I contact my local Sheriff department to at least get this on record? Or wait for a little bit to see if they follow through?

If they're moving, you might want to sue them in small claims before they leave your state. Once they leave CO, it'll be all but impossible to get any money out of the hooligans.
A vandalism report to the sheriff is also a sound idea.
In fact, why not evict them LEGALLY? Don't wait for more damages, vandalism, and destruction.
They'll likely stiff you on the last month's rent anyway.

By legally evicting them, just the filing of such a lawsuit will destroy their rental ability for decades, even if you don't get compensated. You'll have the last laugh on the savages.
