my moms insurance agent was a sleep at the wheel

Last year my mom 75 years old. Had a accident. I told her then that not to worry her insurance agent of 45 years would take care of it.....WE found out that she was very under insured. Never in the 45 years did the insurance agent tell her she needed more insurance even after my brother died and my mom got his home 2 homes in the napa valley and haveing minimum insrance....now she has had to morgage her home and is trying to sell some property..my sister and i are trying to sell our homes to help out .... Is this insurance agent guilty of not doing her job ......

I don't think there is a civil remedy unless there is a contract that states something specific about guaranteeing the appropriate amount of insurance is approximated yearly and wasn't, etc. but you may want to discuss the conduct of this agent with the insurance company...
