This question is about my cousin. She has custody of her 2 children and she lives in Kokomo IN. She has been unemployed for over a year and is not able to find a job. She had to give up her house to her ex because she was not able to pay for it. I live in TN and I have offer her full time work and to help her get back on her feet. Is there a way she would be able to petition the court to let her move in order to support her herself and her children? Is there a way she can this with little or no money. Of course she cannot afford a lawyer. Do you think the court would be sympathetic to her situation?

Your friend certainly has a chance of being able to move if she can prove it is in the child's best interest. If she cannot find a job and she is moving for employment it is possible. She can call legal aid to see if they can help her otherwise she needs to file on her own. does she get child support? Has she asked the father to see if they can work something out? She needs to be aware if she is allowed to move she may be on the hook for all travel expenses for visitation.
