Moved out during 3 day notice.

We were recently given a 3 day notice to leave the premises after being 15 days late for rent. We moved out completely on the third legal day of the notice. What we are wondering now "Can the landlord sue us for the remainder of the lease?"

Yes he can just because you moved out does not mean rent is not owed

What your landlord likely provided you with was a "Pay or Quit" notice, giving you a certain amount of time (in this case, 3 days) to remedy the situation by paying what you owe. Since you didn't the landlord can consider suing you for the amount of rent you owe plus any additional rent until a new tenant can be found (or the lease would normally end).
