Hi,
My ex and I follow the standard visitation schedule for the state of Texas. I have full legal custody of my son, his mother has visitation.
She has him every 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekend of the month. Mother's day this weekend falls on the 2nd week of the month...However, the order says:
"If a conservator, the mother shall have possession of the child beginning at 6:00 o'clock p.m. on the Friday preceding Mother's Day and ending on Mother's Day at 6:00 o'clock p.m., provided that, if she is not otherwise entitled under this standard order to present possession of the child..."
My understanding is that this weekend can be hers if she so chooses. So essentially she would have three weekends in a row. Correct?
Next question:
Father's day this year falls on the 3rd weekend in June - a weekend that would normally be hers. Am I entitled to take that weekend also?
The order says:
"If a conservator, the father shall have possession of the child beginning at 6:00 o'clock p.m. on the Friday preceding Father's Day and ending on Father's Day at 6:00 o'clock p.m., provided that, if he is not otherwise entitled under this standard order to present possession of the child..."
Does this mean that I can keep him on a weekend that would normally be hers because it's father's day weekend or do these Mother's Day/Father's Day rules only apply to the NCP?
