Mortgage company took additional funds...

I made a telephone payment to my mortgage company for the monthly payment on my account. They submitted the draft for the payment plus late fees from previous months. Can they do this? I specifically told them the amount of the payment. Please help.

If the terms of your agreement say they can use your money to pay past due fees, then I guess the answer is yes.
