My wife and I received a document through postal mail, this morning. At first glance, it appears to be an official document (in fact, the title states that it is an "Official Notification") summarizing a loan agreement that dates back to May 3, 2006. The problem is, we never applied for such a loan.
Frantically attempting to figure out where this document came from, we noticed in extremely fine print that the paper was merely an offer.
I thought there was a law against sending offers that served to mislead the recipient into thinking that it was an official document. IS there a law against such actions? If so, what can we do to stop receiving these offers?
Any help would be most appreciated!
